Greater Memphis Chess Center

Guest Speaker:
Brad Hancock

Topic:

Rapid application development with CakePHP 1.3.

CakePHP is an open-source, rapid application development framework that provides a foundational structure to allow developers to focus on the logic of their application and not “reinventing the wheel” with every new deployment.

Brad will demonstrate Cake’s ability to rapidly deploy an app in an enterprise environment with the baking console and application scaffolding. He will point out the code generation and convention over configuration features of Cake while quickly building an application from the ground up.

Brad Hancock is a full-time security and system administrator and part-time CakePHP developer and has been professionally working with computers since 1999. He is a Linux enthusiast and has opened an application development startup based around the CakePHP framework.
